Description

Kaye M, the creator of the #YesAllWomen, tells what led to start the hashtag. She wanted to create a space for women to vent and to emphasize over their shared experience of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and sexism. Kaye M. states as a Muslim women of color she has to constantly deal with stereotypes and causal hate. Two days later, Kaye M was having anxiety attacks because of rape threats and online harassment. One year after she created the hashtag, she states she regrets the media attention but does not regret giving women a place to speak.
