Eric Yaverbaum states the importance of #YesAllWomen and other hashtag associated with activism. He argues #YesAllWomen connected communities, empowered those who were silent, and changed the narrative. Yaverbaum claims hashtag activism is a fight against stigma and produces real world change.

On #YesAllWomen, One Year Late

Kaye, the creator of the #YesAllWomen hashtag, reflects on the movement.  After the Isla Vista massacre, Kay got angry men were tweeting out that not all men were like Elliot Rodgers. She then created #YesAllWomen hashtag.  She stated she wanted to make a safe space for women. However, she received threats and regreted the media attention. She had removed her original tweet and experience panic attacks because of the negative attention. Kay expressed mix feelings about the hashtag. She regrets the attention but is happy to give a place for women to be heard.
