Introduction
The Black lives matter collection provides a chronical of the international activist movement known as “Black Lives Matter” or “#Black Lives Matter”. The movement utilizes organized demonstration and non-violent protest to advocate social justice for the African-American community in ongoing issues with racism, racial profiling, police brutality and inequality in treatment and administration of enforcement (i.e. punishment, over-enforcement, excessive force, stand your ground legislation). The Black Lives Matter Movement began in 2013 with the controversial circumstances of the murder of an African-American teenager Trayvon Martin and the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin. The movement is heavily facilitated through social media outlets such as Twitter.
